Literature Text

I could see it; the post-apocalyptic landscape. It won’t be dust-caked buildings a second from toppling over and would-be-rusted girders to make the buildings gape with holes. No; and it will not be awash with nothing but water and the ever sloshing sounds of a watery grave.
This place is going to look the same but the people will be different. They shall be oblivious and uncertain; influenced with historical malarkey warped by the intense usage of common obsession. They will be there, with banners flown in the after image of our once great society. Or this is how they will perceive the Kentucky Fried Chicken man; who would be so important as to have his face plastered over a strong, red bucket. There will also be the beautiful maiden who resides in an ocean-green circle, clearly a mermaid with the ability to swim in hot chocolate, coffee, Moco lattes and flavoured-Iced-Tea; the mother of the coffee world, Star-Bucks; her Banner flown high above the ships who navigate the stormy, pirate riddled oceans; a battle between trade and trait.
They will have battle cries resounding over grassy fields as they charge at each other on everything from a horse to a tank. “For Ken whose chicken fed our ancestors, we fight!” Or “May UPS Deliver us from evil!” as it will have so often.
They won’t know what UPS or KFC stands for. We will have left behind a confusing succession of acronyms for their radioactive-damaged little brains to come to terms with. Clans will take pride in their Nike shoes, converting others to their fast-running religion sweeping the land relentlessly while the Google-Lord shares knowledge with all. Internet based passions will be borne into the world; the museums of Deviant Art and of course, the Mother of all madness, Tumblr, who understands all.
It will be a tough world, but one with as much communication as miscommunication. Wars will rage, oblivious over the blasphemy of the banners, and only the righteous corporate giants of what was, will have succeeded in representing the world.
